From ironworks to commuter base

Low Moor sits south of the city centre, between Wibsey, Odsal and Wyke. It was once known for the Low Moor Ironworks, and many of the older stone terraces were built for the families who worked there. Today the area is a popular base for commuters, helped by the station that opened in 2017 on the Calder Valley line.

Housing is a mix. Older terraces and semi-detached houses fill the streets around the centre, while newer estates have grown up on former industrial land. Harold Park, with its fishing dam, is a well-used green space, and the council tip on Dealburn Road is right on the doorstep for clearing out before a move.

Roads, match days and access

The M606 runs along the edge of Low Moor, which makes it quick to reach from Bradford and the M62. We come from Alum Drive in BD9, about 6 miles away. Odsal Stadium, home of Bradford Bulls, is close by, and roads around it get busier on match days, so we check your date against the fixtures.

Older terraced streets can be narrow, with parking on both sides. Newer estates usually have more room but tight turning heads and shared drives. We look at access before the day and plan where the van will stand, so loading starts on time within your three-hour arrival slot.
