Girlington is mostly stone-built terraced housing, laid out in tight rows off Girlington Road and Whetley Lane, with some larger family houses and newer homes mixed in. Many people here move short distances, often within BD8 or up the hill towards Heaton and Allerton, and family homes can mean a lot of beds, wardrobes and kitchen items to shift. West Park is the local green space for a breather once the boxes are in.
Streets, parking and access
Terraced streets in Girlington are narrow, and with cars parked on both sides a full-size removal lorry is not always the right choice. Front doors that open straight onto the pavement make loading quick, but the stairs inside are often steep and tight.
