Leeds Road and the streets around it
Laisterdyke is on the eastern side of Bradford, built up along Leeds Road where Sticker Lane and Killinghall Road meet it. The streets either side are mostly stone terraces and back-to-back houses from the mill era, packed closely together. Towards Thornbury and Bradford Moor there are more terraces, some semi-detached houses and pockets of newer housing.
Homes here are often compact, with narrow staircases and small rooms. That makes careful handling of large furniture the main part of most Laisterdyke moves: sofas that need to come through a front door straight off the pavement, wardrobes that must be taken apart, and beds that have to go up a tight turn.
Parking and traffic
Leeds Road is one of the busiest roads in the city, carrying traffic between Bradford and Leeds all day. We avoid loading on it wherever possible and park on a side street instead. Those side streets are often narrow, with cars parked on both sides, so we check them before the day and plan the carry.
We are about 4 miles away on Alum Drive in BD9, and we travel across the city to reach you. Rush hour on Leeds Road can be slow, which is one reason we give a three-hour arrival slot rather than a fixed minute.
