Removals in Heaton, Bradford

Heaton sits on the hillside above Manningham and Frizinghall, with stone terraces near Highgate, large Victorian houses and quieter streets of semis towards Haworth Road. Our base on Alum Drive is in BD9 too, so a move here is about as local as it gets.

Moving home in Heaton

Heaton packs a wide mix of homes into a small area. Close to Lister Park and Highgate there are rows of stone terraces, some with cellars and steep front steps. Higher up, around Heaton Road, Haworth Road and the streets near Bradford Royal Infirmary, there are large Victorian and Edwardian houses, many on three floors, plus later semis with drives. One week we might carry a sideboard up from a cellar, and the next we empty a five-bedroom villa. Our house removals service covers both, with packing if you want it.

Streets, parking and access

The thing to plan for is the slope. Heaton climbs west from Manningham and Frizinghall, and some side streets are steep, narrow and lined with parked cars. We look at access before the day, and on tight streets we may park on a wider road nearby and shuttle with a smaller van. Terraces with long flights of steps take more time, so we set the crew size to suit. If you live near the hospital on Duckworth Lane, expect busier roads during the day.

Older houses often have heavy, solid furniture and the odd upright piano. We wrap every piece, protect banisters and door frames, and take apart beds and wardrobes so they come down narrow stairs without damage.

Getting here from our base

We are based on Alum Drive in BD9, about a mile from most Heaton addresses, so our vans are rarely more than a few minutes away. That helps with early starts and with moves that need two trips. Many Heaton moves are short hops to Frizinghall or Allerton, but we also move people out of the area and across the UK. Our Bradford removals team gives a 3-hour arrival time slot and a free quote that stays valid for 3 months.

Moving in Heaton: common questions

Are Heaton's hills a problem for a removal van?

Not usually, but some side streets are steep and narrow, with cars parked on both sides. We check the street before the day. If the main van cannot get close, we may park on a wider road and shuttle with a smaller van.

Can you move heavy Victorian furniture and pianos?

Yes. Many older Heaton houses have heavy wardrobes, sideboards and upright pianos. We wrap each piece and bring the right equipment and enough people for front steps and narrow hallways.

Can you clear the loft as part of the move?

We can move items from a loft as long as it has a fitted loft ladder and boarding, which our terms require for safety. If yours does not, please bring loft items down before moving day.

How early should I get a quote?

As early as you like. Our quotes stay valid for 3 months, so you can get one before your completion date is fixed and confirm the day once you know it.
